More about these tools

What changes is the text and the length. Take the pangram in the quick brown fox test, settle into two, three, five or ten minutes on a classic book, or read a fable by Aesop as you type it. There is a plainer test for children and a hard one of long words. Every passage is in the public domain or written for this site, and what you type is never sent anywhere. For the standard one-minute test with common words, use the typing speed test. Bests are saved in this browser, one for each test.
