More about these tools
The subwoofer bass test steps from 160 Hz down to 20 Hz, and the headphone bass test from 125 Hz, one ear at a time. Test tones for speakers go up by octaves from 125 Hz to 16 kHz. The A 440 tone generator plays tuning notes by name. The 40 Hz test tone has 27 rattle checks for a car or a room, and the Shepard tone generator plays a pitch that seems to rise or fall forever. Every page starts quietly and fades in. Low tones need real speakers: a phone speaker gives little or nothing at 40 Hz.
