How it works
A 122 BPM metronome sits mid-range for a competition paso doble. The World DanceSport Federation's rules print 60 to 62 bars a minute, Wikipedia's Ballroom dance list writes the dance in 2/4, and 61 twos make 122: our sum.

Start
Tap the pad, or press Space. No click at 122 is raised and two dots take turns, so the pad counts in twos as readily as in fours. Tap again to stop.
Change the tempo
Tap the number under the pad and type a tempo, or use minus and plus. Two presses down give 120 and two up 124: the slow and quick ends of the same paso doble range, by the same sum.
Questions and answers
Is 122 BPM allegro or allegretto?
Allegro, and nothing else, in Wikipedia's list of tempo markings. Allegretto, Moderato and Allegro moderato all stop at 120, and Allegro vivace waits until 124. Only 121, 122 and 123 have Allegro to themselves, by our count. The list calls its figures very rough.

Two competition ranges hold it. A paso doble's 60 to 62 bars of 2/4 make 120, 122 or 124 beats; a cha-cha-cha's 30 to 32 bars of 4/4 span 120 to 128. Bars: World DanceSport Federation Rule E.3.2. Time signatures: Wikipedia. Beats: our sums.
Is 122 BPM animato?
On one dial. German Wikipedia's Tempo article pictures a Japanese metronome with Animato over 116 to 126, a word the English list leaves out. Its German dial reads Allegro and its French one Adagio (98 to 124). Approximate hints, the article says.

Look at the phone first: its ring switch, its volume, and whether a Bluetooth speaker is holding the sound. Muted or not, the two dots on the pad take turns 122 times a minute.
