How it works
Metronome 165 clicks on a number Wikipedia's Drum and bass article uses twice. The genre had sped up to around 155 to 165 beats a minute by 1993, it says, and its breakbeats typically run at 165 to 185.

Tap the pad, or press Space. Every click at 165 sounds alike and two dots take turns, which leaves the bar to you. Tap again to stop.
Change the tempo
Tap the number under the pad and type a tempo, or use minus and plus. A clockwork model passes 165 by: Wikipedia's Metronome article lists the most common wind-up scale in eights at this speed, 160 then 168.
Questions and answers
Which tempo word is 165 BPM?
Vivace alone, in Wikipedia's list of tempo markings (156 to 176): Allegro ended at 156 and Presto starts at 168. Two dials pictured in German Wikipedia's Tempo article, a German and a French one, print Allegro at 165. Each source calls its figures approximate.
Is 165 BPM too slow for drum and bass?
Not by Wikipedia's article on the genre: its opening calls 165 to 185 typical. Its history runs from about 130 in 1990 and 1991, through 155 to 165 by 1993, to mostly 170 to 180 since about 1996. So 165 was once the fast edge.
Is there a 3/4 metronome at 165?
On this site, yes: open the 3/4 metronome and type 165 under its pad. The first click of every three is higher there, and 55 bars go by each minute, by our sum. The pad on this page marks no bar at all.
Why can't I hear the metronome?
On a phone it is nearly always the ring switch, the volume or a Bluetooth device that has the sound. The tempo can still be seen: the pad's two dots take turns on every click of the 165.
