Start
Tap the pad, or press Space, to set 115 running: four dots, the big one first. Tap once more for silence.
Change the tempo
Tap the number under the pad and type another, or step with minus and plus. For 115 in 3/4, 2/4, 3/8 or 5/4, open that bar's metronome on this site and type 115 under its pad; in 3/8 the number counts eighth notes.
Questions and answers
Is allegro 115 beats per minute?
Not in Wikipedia's list of tempo markings, which opens Allegro at 120. There 115 is Moderato (108 to 120) and Allegretto (112 to 120), and Allegro moderato starts one beat higher, at 116. The list presents its figures as very rough approximations for 4/4 time.
What does a metronome's dial print at 115?
No number, on the most common wind-up scale in Wikipedia's Metronome article: it steps from 112 to 116. German Wikipedia pictures three dials with loosely placed words: Allegretto (Japanese), Moderato (German) and Adagio (French, 98 to 124), though the English list ends Adagio at 66.
How many milliseconds is an eighth note at 115 BPM?
260.9 ms, half of one beat. Our own division of the beat also gives 130.4 ms for a sixteenth note, 173.9 ms for each note of an eighth-note triplet and 391.3 ms for a dotted eighth, each rounded to one decimal place.
Why can't I hear the metronome?
Usually a phone setting: the ring switch on silent, the volume at zero, or a Bluetooth speaker holding the click. The four dots keep the bar going by eye. For a wood block or a cowbell instead of the click, the sounds page takes 115.
