How it works

This rep counter online counts taps, not movement: tap Rep, or press Space, once a rep, and after every 10 the Set tile goes up by one. It works as an exercise counter clicker on a phone or a keyboard.

Change the size of a set

For another size, such as 6 or 25, type it in Reps in one set under More options, or press a preset of 5, 8, 12, 15 or 20 in the list under the tool.

Count to a number

Under More options, Reps to 50, with a beep and Reps to 100, with a beep each give one big button. The line under it says how many are left, and a beep sounds on the last rep.

Come back to the same count

The count is kept in this browser, so it is still there after a reload or a closed tab. Reps spread through a day add up on one board.

Questions and answers

What is a rep and what is a set?

A rep, short for repetition, is one performance of an exercise. Two or more reps done in a row make a set.

Does the rep counter count reps automatically?

No. It counts taps and key presses only: the page uses no camera and reads no motion. Tap the screen or press Space at each rep, or ask a partner to tap while you move.

How many reps is 3 sets of 10?

30, because 3 × 10 = 30. In the same way 4 sets of 12 are 48 reps and 5 sets of 5 are 25.

Is there a rep counter with a timer?

Not on this page. The counter has no clock, so it times no set and no rest. To time one, open the full-screen stopwatch in a second tab; the count here stays as it was.

Sets under 10 reps 2

  • Reps into sets, 5 reps a set The shortest set on the list. Every fifth tap on Rep puts it back to 0 and adds 1 to Set: 20 taps read 4 sets, and 23 read 4 sets and 3 reps.
  • Reps into sets, 8 reps a set Set goes up on every eighth tap. A set that stops early stays on the Rep tile, and the two tiles together give the reps so far: 2 sets and 6 reps are 2 × 8 + 6 = 22.

Sets of 10 reps or more 4

  • Reps into sets, 10 reps a set The board this page opens on. On the tenth tap Rep reads 0 again and Set gains 1, so 30 taps show 3 sets and 0 reps.
  • Reps into sets, 12 reps a set Twelve taps fill a set. On a keyboard Space is a rep and S adds a whole set by hand, for a set that was done away from the screen. 60 taps read 5 sets.
  • Reps into sets, 15 reps a set Rep runs from 0 to 14 and the fifteenth tap turns it into a set. Worked the other way: 3 sets on the Set tile are 3 × 15 = 45 reps done.
  • Reps into sets, 20 reps a set The longest set on the list: Set gains 1 on every twentieth tap, so 100 taps read 5 sets.

Reps to a number 2

  • Reps to 50, with a beep One big button and no sets. After 30 taps the line under it reads "20 to go to 50." The count carries on past 50, so an extra rep still shows.
  • Reps to 100, with a beep For one long count: at 64 the line reads "36 to go to 100." Any other number goes in Target under More options.

Plain counts 5

  • Left side and right side For an exercise done one side at a time. L counts the left, R the right, and the Total line is both together: 12 and 12 make 24. A glance at the two tiles shows whether the sides are level.
  • Reps on one button, no target The plain clicker: one large button, and each tap or press of Space is one more rep. Nothing rolls over and nothing beeps, so the number is simply the reps done since the last reset.
  • Sets only For when the reps are easy to count in your head and the sets are what slip. One large button, tapped once at the end of each set.
  • Three exercises with a total Three counters on keys 1 to 3 for a round of three exercises, with all the reps added up: 10, 15 and 20 give a total of 45. Copy results copies the table for a spreadsheet or a training log.
  • Two exercises side by side A counter each for two exercises done in turn, on the F and J keys. Type the two names in the field above the counters, one on each line. There is no total, because reps of two different exercises are not added together.

How this list was compiled: The presets and their notes are this site's own, made for this page in October 2026. Every number in a note is plain arithmetic (reps in one set times sets, or the taps left to a target), calculated on 13 October 2026. A repetition as one performance of an exercise, and a set as two or more repetitions done in a row: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strength_training (section "Repetitions and sets"), read on 13 October 2026; its text is under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. The set sizes are sizes to count to and nothing more: no number of reps or sets is recommended, and no training, health or injury guidance is given. Licence: own work
