How it works

This people counter clicker opens on a door count: tap In for each person who enters and Out for each who leaves, and Inside now shows the difference. Every tap is saved in this browser.

Count a door

Tap In or Out, or press F and J on a keyboard. The −1 on a card takes one off that card, and Undo takes back the last press, even a reset.

Use it as a person counter clicker online

For one running total, press Count one thing. One big button adds a person with each tap, and nothing is installed.

Load another count

Open More options, or press a name in the list under the tool: adults and children, a trip head count that beeps when everyone is back, parties by size, or foot traffic by hour.

Questions and answers

How do I count people going in and out?

Tap In when someone enters and Out when someone leaves. Inside now is In minus Out, so 40 in and 28 out shows 12. If that line is marked and below zero, an entry was missed.

Can I use my phone as a people counter?

Yes. The page runs in a phone browser, and each card is one large button. The count is kept in that browser, so it is still there after the screen locks or the tab is closed.

Can the counter stop at a room limit?

Yes, at a number you type. Load Head count to a room limit and put your own number in Target under More options. Taps are refused there until you press Keep counting. The page prints no capacity rule.

Can two phones share one count?

No. A count lives in one browser and is not sent anywhere, so two phones keep two counts. To cover two entrances on one screen, load Two doors, one number inside.

Doors and rooms 4

  • Head count to a room limit One counter that beeps twice at the target and refuses new taps until you press Keep counting. The target starts at 10 only as a sample: type the number for your own room in Target under More options. The page prints no capacity figure of its own.
  • Head count, one tap a person The plain clicker: one big button, and each tap is one more person. Count one thing opens this counter. Take 1 off corrects a double tap.
  • In and out, with the number inside The board this page opens on. Tap In as each person enters and Out as each one leaves; with a keyboard, F and J. The Inside now line is worked out for you.
  • Two doors, one number inside A front door and a back door on one screen. Front in and Front out sit on F and D for the left hand, Back in and Back out on J and K for the right. One Inside now line adds both ins and takes off both outs.

Groups and trips 3

  • Adults and children Two keys, A and C, with a total and each group's share. 18 adults and 27 children make 45 people, 40.0% and 60.0%. For a ticket desk or a family event where the two are reported apart.
  • Parties by size For a host stand or a ticket window. Press 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 for the size of each party as it arrives. The total is the number of parties, not of people, and the shares show which size turns up most.
  • Trip head count: everyone back Type the number who set out as the target, then tap once for each person back on the bus or at the meeting point. One beep sounds when the count reaches the target. The target starts at 10 as a sample.

Events and foot traffic 4

  • Event check-in: ticket, guest list, door Three ways in, on T, G and D: holding a ticket, named on the guest list, or paying at the door. The total is everyone admitted. 90, 24 and 6 make 120 guests, 75.0%, 20.0% and 5.0%.
  • Foot traffic by hour Eight counters named for the hours from 9 am to 4 pm, on keys 1 to 8, with a total for the day. Tap the hour you are in for each visitor. Type your own opening hours in the field above the counters before you start.
  • Passersby: walked past, stopped, came in For a stall, a booth or a store window. Count each person once, by the most they did: W for walked past, S for stopped to look, C for came in. With 120, 60 and 20 the shares are 60.0%, 30.0% and 10.0% of 200 passersby.
  • Seats taken and empty Walk the rows and press T for each taken seat and E for each empty one. The total is the seats you passed, and the share on Taken is how full the room is: 54 taken and 18 empty is 75.0%.

How this list was compiled: Presets, key layouts and notes were designed and written for this page in October 2026. The worked examples (a number inside, a total, a share) were calculated on 2 October 2026 with the same rounding the counter uses, one decimal place. No capacity rule, fire limit or crowd figure is printed: where a preset counts to a limit, the number shown is a sample and the visitor types their own. Licence: own work
