Questions and answers
Which dance music styles include 135 BPM?
Several ranges hold it. Wikipedia's articles put techno at 120 to 150, with 135 exactly halfway; dubstep nearly always at 132 to 142; and UK garage normally between 130 and 138. Each range is its article's own, and none makes 135 a style's fixed tempo.
Is 135 BPM allegro on every metronome dial?
On two of the three pictured in German Wikipedia, a Japanese and a German one. A 19th-century French dial prints Andante over 124 to 152, though Wikipedia's English list ends Andante at 108 and runs Allegro from 120 to 156. Both call their figures rough.
Is metronome 135 mm the same as 135 BPM?
Yes. M.M. stands for Maelzel's metronome, and German Wikipedia's Tempo article says the number after it counts beats a minute. The most common scale on such a metronome, in Wikipedia's Metronome article, has no 135: it steps from 132 to 138, with 135 exactly midway.
How long is a triplet at 135 BPM?
One note of an eighth-note triplet lasts 148.1 ms, a third of a beat. By the same division of our own, an eighth note is 222.2 ms, a sixteenth 111.1 ms and a dotted eighth 333.3 ms, rounded to a tenth of a millisecond.
Why can't I hear the metronome?
First the ring switch, then the volume, then Bluetooth: any of the three can leave a phone silent. At 135 the four dots still light in order, the first one larger, so the bar shows even with the sound off.
