How it works

Questions and answers
What is the slowest metronome speed?
Here, 1 beat a minute: one click, then a full minute before the next. A typed 0 is brought up to 1, and the limits appear beside the number for a moment.
How slow is a 20 BPM metronome?
One click every three seconds. Slower still, by the same sum of 60 divided by the tempo: 15 is four seconds a click, 12 is five and 10 is six. Between 20 and 40: 25 is 2.4 seconds and 35 about 1.7.
What is the slowest tempo marking?
Larghissimo. Wikipedia's list of common tempo markings opens with it: extremely slow, 24 beats a minute and under. Grave and Adagissimo, very slow and solemn, follow at 24 to 40, so 30 sits under those two. Every figure is very rough, the list says.
How do I count with a metronome at 30 BPM?
Fill the gap yourself. Count two even beats to each click and you are playing at 60; count four and you are at 120, with the click on beat one of each bar of four. The halving and quartering are our own sums.
Why can't I hear the metronome?
Count to two first: at 30 the next click is that far off. Otherwise a phone may be muted at its ring switch, turned right down, or playing through Bluetooth headphones. The two dots swap on every click anyway, so the gap stays in sight.
