The rules of this test

Every click or tap in 1 second counts. A key press counts too. The result is clicks per second, with the shortest and the median gap.

Times are taken with the browser's high-resolution clock at the moment a key or a button goes down, not when it comes back up. Your best result and your last ten runs are kept in this browser, so you can see whether you are getting better. They are never uploaded, and there is no account.

No result on this page is compared with other people. The only numbers shown are your own.

How it works

This 1 second click test counts your clicks for one second, so the count is your clicks per second. Under it you get the shortest and the median gap between clicks, in ms.

CPS test, 1 second: how a burst is scored

Over one second, clicks per second is the count itself, so the result reads 7.00 or 8.00 and nothing between. Eight clicks hold seven gaps, and the Gaps row gives the shortest and the median of them in ms.

  • Already hold a one-second best on the CPS test? It shows here too, because the two pages share that history.

Questions and answers

What does a 1 second CPS test measure?

Your burst: how many clicks you land before the hand slows. It cannot show the pace you hold. For that, take the 10 second click test, which sets the two halves of a run side by side.

Why is my one second click test score higher than over five seconds?

A short run flatters you. The clock starts on your first click and that click counts, which can add almost 1.00 CPS over one second and under 0.20 over five. A burst also ends before fatigue shows.

Can a click speed test of 1 second show decimals?

Not in the score: one click is one whole CPS. For a finer figure, divide 1,000 by the median gap printed under the score. A median gap of 125 ms is a pace of 8.0 clicks a second.
